Overall design, manufacture and installation of a domestic kitchen in Newcastle.
Following the initial space planning we developed the scheme to be a mix of standard kitchen base units, plywood and Formica doors, and tailored plywood island and wall units. We worked closely with the on-site builder and co-ordinated the design and installation of the solid-surface worktops. The overall design is playful and simple with colours that echo the heydays of Formica. Indeed the coloured laminates were provided by the local Formica factory in North Shields, that is still going strong.
The wall units vary in height and depth to give interest and variety across the back wall. Some are lit with LED strips to enhance the display and provide lower levels of lighting to the space. All plywood edges are exposed to show off the beauty of the material.
