A pre-teens bedroom in an old Victorian room.
The design includes the separation of different areas for sleeping, relaxing, studying and dressing. With a simple structural format of posts and beams supporting plywood boxes.
We used spruce faced plywood for this project as a cost effective alternative to birch faced ply.
The bed was raised up with boxes / shelves forming steps up to it. The dressing area was formed by a bank of box shelves and a 'hatch' forms a link to the study area from the door.
Some of the surfaces were painted and some left plain, the posts and beams were all painted to contrast with the plywood.
All in all a very happy client at the end of the day.
